Events Access Disclaimer
AFI reserves the right to limit access to and/or participation at AFI events, including screenings and tapings.
AFI events, screenings and tapings may be monitored for unauthorized recording. By attending, you agree not to bring any audio or video recording device into the theater or event space (audio recording devices for credentialed press excepted) and consent to a physical search of your belongings and person. Any attempted use of recording devices may result in your immediate removal from the theater or space, forfeiture of the device and may subject you to criminal and civil liability by the distributor.
AFI retains ownership of its invitations. Some invitations are provided to you for your personal use only, and may not be transferred, sold or bartered by you to any other person or entity.
Guests attending screenings must be seated in the theater 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the screening, or seat may be forfeited.
Events are not rated and viewer discretion is advised. Ticket(s), access and privileges may be revoked at any time for any reason without liability to AFI. Ticket purchases are non-refundable. Ticket purchasers and/or attendees must be over 18 years of age or accompanied by a parent or guardian. Ticket holder/attendee releases and holds harmless AFI together with its parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, successors, licensees and assigns and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents from any claims resulting from attendance. AFI is released of any and all liability for personal injuries (including death) and property losses or damage occasioned by, or in connection with, any activity or accommodations for its events. Ticket holder/attendee shall abide by all the rules and regulations of AFI.
The American Film Institute may search all bags before entering an event. Guests may be asked to pass through metal detectors and submit to a more extensive search, if necessary.
Guests may be asked to leave the event for reasons including, but not limited to the following:
- Unruly conduct
- Use of illegal substances or drugs
- Disruptive behavior
- Use of profane, obscene or abusive language of any type
- Possession of illegal or unauthorized items
- Verbally abusing, threatening guests, or staff
- Participating in a fight
- Entering or attempting to enter any unauthorized areas, such as backstage areas, talent green rooms or red carpet.
- Any action that, in the opinion of AFI Management, places other guests in danger or reduces their enjoyment of the event
Guests that are asked to leave the property may be subject to arrest. These guests will not receive a refund for their ticket(s)
Ticket holder/attendee hereby irrevocably grants permission to the American Film Institute, their respective associates, alliances, assignees, licensees, sponsors and agents, to photograph, film, videotape and record gratis user's attendance and/or performance at the event, and to telecast, exhibit and otherwise utilize the same gratis in whatever manner such persons deem appropriate. Such permission shall include the right to appropriate use gratis of the user's name, likeness and voice in promotional announcements regarding the event and/or as part of AFI Archive materials.
