The Films of Martin Scorsese THE LAST WALTZ

The Last Waltz (1978)

Still Gallery
After touring for sixteen years, The Band called their final concert for Thanksgiving Day, 1976. The event at the Winterland ballroom, San Francisco, was filmed by Scorsese and crew, with each shot pre-planned to correspond with song lines and chord changes. Invited to join The Band onstage were a host of fellow legends, including Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Neil Young and others. After the concert, the Band told its story to Scorsese, and these interviews were then intercut with the performances.
