The Films of Martin Scorsese LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST

The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)

Jesus of Nazareth, a carpenter, is convinced his special purpose in life is to teach God's word. Joined by Judas, Mary, and his disciples, he delivers the Sermon on the Mount. Whe he tells Judas he must betray him, Jesus is arrested by the Romans and crucified. On the cross, an angel appears and offers Jesus a normal life as a family man. But when he is told of the crucifixion and resurrection, and Judas accuses Him of failing the cause, Jesus accepts his destiny and crawls back on to the cross.
