AFI Archive

The AFI Archive collects and preserves the heritage of the moving image.

Housed at the Louis B. Mayer Library on the AFI Campus, the Archive comprises nearly 50 years of rare and unique materials from across the history of cinema and television.

Included in this collection are audio and video interviews, conversations, oral histories, photographs, unpublished scripts, production materials, ephemera and transcripts of seminars, interviews, workshops, classes, programming and events. The AFI Archive also serves as a repository for films produced at the AFI Conservatory, including in the AFI Directing Workshop for Women (DWW).

The AFI Archive is accessible for research by appointment only. Contact [email protected], or 323.856.7654, for more information. Head to AFI's YouTube page for a sample of videos from the AFI Archive.
