SO MUCH WATER [Tanta agua]

Sullen fourteen-year-old Lucía leaves her home in Montevideo with her brother Federico to spend a week's vacation at a spa resort with her divorced dad, Alberto. Lucía's expectations of terminal boredom appear to be confirmed when torrential rainstorms arrive, closing the pool and canceling the outdoor activities Alberto had planned. But Lu becomes fast friends with a local girl she meets at the arcade, Madelin, not to mention the dreamy-looking Santiago, which soon leads to sneaking out at night, parties on the beach, first love and first heartache. Filmmakers Ana Guevara and Leticia Jorge craft an unsentimental portrait of family life under less-than-ideal circumstances, graced with genuine moments of humor and tenderness.
